An Apple a Day...

As the saying goes… an apple a day keeps the doctor away! Nature’s candy can be consumed in a variety of ways – fresh off the tree, baked, poached, grilled, frozen, blended – you name it!! However, I do not recommend juicing your fruits. When juiced, you are not receiving the wonderful goodness of fiber and polyphenol phytonutrients from fruits. Unfortunately, greater juice consumption is also associated with higher risk for diabetes. So rather than opting for that $8 cold-pressed juice, bust out the handy blender and whip up some delicious smoothies!

The variety of fruits existing is incredible.. I recommend you hit up your local farmer’s market and grab some fruits you’ve never tried before! Have fun sampling all the local produce!
