Exercise Your Mind & Body
By Kim
To wrap up the daily dozen, we’ve got last but definitely not least, EXERCISE! It is recommended to get at least 90 minutes of moderate-intensity activity or 40 minutes of vigorous activity per day.
Being sedentary and sitting on our butts all day is not ideal, but what if we really have to sit all day for work or school?? Studies suggest that regular interruptions may also be beneficial. These breaks do not have to be long or strenuous either! Overall, try getting off the chair and onto your feet as often as possible.
Here are my top tips and tricks for making your days more active!
- walk to the farthest bathroom at work
- take the stairs whenever possible
- schedule walks with friends during lunch
- park at the farthest parking spot
- schedule walking meetings
- bike to work
- wear a pedometer and track your steps
- keep a resistance band near your desk
- schedule workouts in the morning rather than afternoon so you’re less likely to flake 🙂
- stretch!!
- give yourself more breaks throughout the day!
